Influence of Track Typology on the Dynamic Response of Short-Span High-Speed Railway Bridges

It is known that short-span high-speed railway viaducts are prone to suffer significant dynamic effects due the passage of moving train loads. Recent technological advances in engineering have resulted track typologies different from conventional ballasted consisting discrete sleepers fastened rails and resting on a ballast bed. In particular, ballastless has been identified as an effective solution reduced maintenance costs, high stability excellent geometric quality. Though available market, they can be classified monolithic or independent according interaction degree with bridge girder. present paper, behaviour bridges numerically studied by taking into account track-bridge modelling explicitly components track. Two types (monolithic continuous slab short slabs) considered simply supported span length range 15-25 m subjected envelope commercial loads at speeds between 200 360 km/h. total, 2448 numerical cases analyzed. The study shows deflections accelerations produced girder when replaced systems, especially for critical higher than 300 Moreover, it shown two systems lead very similar results, system resulting slightly smaller also moderately larger accelerations.
